review 1: If you like romance stories but like me find them too formulaic, then you'll probably enjoy this book. The concept is interesting- finding your self just before you turn 40- taking a break from your marriage- even happily married people can relate to this idea. Why did I give it only a like and not a love? Because there were some continuity errors, where the characters were in one place/ situation then suddenly in a different one. And the story started to drag a bit in the middle. Bravo for the effort to break out of they romance formula and write something with a protagonist who's not a single 26-29 year old.
review 2: I can't stand reviews that repeats the synopsis. So I won't do that. Ever. I enjoyed this book and found there were times where I just had to
... moreread one more page. That one more turned into 30 minutes of blurry eyed reading. While I enjoyed this book I still felt like it was missing something. I still haven't put my finger on it, but it's there. I think as a married woman nearly the same age as Jane Mara, we all feel the what if life were different?Would I still be me? moments. I found her husband to be shallow and unwilling to give a little. Over all I would give this book 3.75 stars. I did default to 4 as 3 just fails a book for me. It didn't leave me wishing for a part two. Part one was enough. less
