review 1: I wasnt prepared to like this so much. All in all I flew through this in a couple of hours and wasnt bored even for a minute. However - since it is such an interesting point and the main theme of the book - I would have expected a little bit more detailed information regarding the cult/the Church of America. I felt like the meeting with Frick and the whole resolution regarding the company was so rushed. Also I know it is YA, so some romance is obligatory, but it just seemed forced and would have been better without. Or maybe not picked up until the sequel. Still, a good read.
review 2: I really liked this book. The irony of the American based religion is simply great. This book is listed as Vivian #1, which made me wonder how they were going to make a second ... morebook when Vivian is going against the apocalypse. I still didn't have a clue how they were going to that until the very end, which means it's not a predictable YA book. There was a situation at the end that I didn't agree with, however the continuation with a book #2 could fix that dilemma. less
