review 1: The story is told from Maggie's perspective.On the way to Green Falls she meets Haden at the gas station and then again at the saloon. Haden is confident yet he is hiding something from his past. Haden states that everybody is running away from something.Maggie and Haden are going to work together over the summer.Sweet first kisses and nice guys during the summer sounds like a good place to be.Maggie has trust issues with guys and usually has a ton a walls in place to keep guys at arms length, but for whatever reason Haden is different. Haden is trying to make her more spontaneous and not so structured.The story is written well. It's a great YA romance story. First love with the shyness and inexperience. The awkwardness of the first kiss and holding hands.The family drama ... moreseems to be more prominent. The pressure of doing the right thing is consuming the story and taking away from the blossoming love story. I want answers and I want both of them to reveal there past issues but something continues to stand in the way. Just when you think one of them has the courage to face a fear one of them gets scared off. It's frustrating.SECRETS, SECRETS, AND MORE SECRETS...I think I have one figured out. Hayden is the singer of that band The Believers.Everything does not get figured out in this story. Another book continues with what happened to Maggie's mom and what happens between her and Haden.It was okay. It was puzzling the relationship Maggie had with her mom.
review 2: Loved this as an opener for a series, hooked from page one I read the whole book in one sitting cursing that it finished where it did!Maggie has gone back to Texas with her mom to spend time with her family before she goes off to college. The summer gets off to a great start after being reunited with her cousin and meeting a handsome guy. As the story unfolds the handsome guy may not be all he seems.A great story with some interesting plot twists. I can't wait to read the next books. less
