review 1: Demitri Howard is an ex-con turned successful movie producer thanks to the books he penned while incarcerated. He never thought he would live amongst the elite Hollywood society, but has now become accustomed to having the finer things in life. Demitri knows he is blessed and does not forget where he came from. With an unsuccessful relationship with the woman he loves, he moves on and eventually finds fulfillment in the daughter that surprisingly enters his life.In the midst of his happiness, a night out with his friends is tragically turned into a murder scene that catapults him into a series of events that he is able to tie back to connections from his past. Tempted to go back into street mode, Demitri has to carefully think of a way to use his power to unearth the detai... morels of what has already occurred while attempting to keep this from harming his family and friends any further.There are so many different story lines in this book and I wanted to keep track of them all. There were a few editing flaws, but nothing to diminish the effectiveness of the story. After not finishing this book until well after midnight, I immediately began part two to find out how the story progressed. There was no way I could have gone to sleep peacefully considering how this title ended. review 2: "Demitri Howard is an extremely successful film producer who has turned his life around after an extensive prison sentence. With luxury homes on both coasts, the world is his playground. The life of running drugs and guns up and down I-95 and I-81 is a thing of the past. Or is it. The drama begins as Demitri's relationship with A-list actress Michelle Malone comes to an end. A high profile romance that is splattered across the tabloids with as much publicity as JAY-Z and Beyonce. Demitri's world is soon changed again when he finds a beautiful newborn babygirl abandoned on his beachfront backyard in the Hamptons and against his better judgement keeps her and raises her as his own. But just as everything seems to be going wonderful, a ghost from the past reappears and one of Demitri's closest homies (friends) is murdered in cold blood in front of hundreds at a club in Atlantic City, New jersey...and all hell breaks loose. Too many secrets to be kept quiet...but everyone has their price."This book was definately fast paced and excited. However, I found it lacking in depth. I'd want to give Jackson a few more books worth of writing to work out his kinks. Couldn't get all the way through. less
