review 1: Raum is a Fallen Angel that has been cast out of Hell. With no where to go, he plays both sides--Heaven and Hell. Arrogant to a fault, he's a gorgeous entity that no human or half-demon gal can resist. He volunteers to play Guardian Angel to Ember, who is a half-demon capable of opening a vortex and letting all Hell loose on earth. She is unaware of her power and didn't realize an otherworldly world existed. Raum shows her this world among other things. The attraction the two have for each other is scorching hot and too difficult for either of them to resist. Ember would give Raum her heart, but the Fallen Angels has secrets that may destroy what future they could have. This paranormal romance draws you in from the first page and keeps you turning the pages to find out wha... moret happens next. I always enjoy entering Ms. Castle's worlds.
review 2: I really enjoyed the book and I am hoping that there is to be a series that will continue the stories of these characters, allowing each of the ex-Fallen to find their own heroine.Raum is the hero - a Fallen angel who has been exiled from Hell (one of seven actually). He and his fellow ex-Fallen contract out to Heaven when there is dirty work to be done. Raum's assignment is to protect Ember (the heroine) who is half-human and half-demon and all Breaker. She is meant to break the Nexus which will allow the denizens of the underworld to invade the Earth. There is an instantaneous attraction between the two when he visits her perfumery, which he tries to deny and she tries to forget.All in all, a great paranormal romance. Honestly, though, I wish it could have been longer which would have allowed more depth, but that would be my only complaint and the reason for four stars. less
