review 1: Was passed this book by a friend of a friend. Though the concept was ok, hence the 2 stars in stead of 1, it was yet again another typical amateurishly written formula driven style girly book. I am baffled that this genre cannot have better writing skills behind it. Why?One thing I found, and this is a spoiler in a way, if the main male character already Knew and had an intention for pursuing the blind date, after finding that out later on when reading near the end, it was quite confusing as to how the writer chose to present the male character's feelings and thoughts and reactions upon Attending the blind date with the main female character. That is just one sort of ill written inconsistency. The letter that was written to the female main character by another character in... more the book, was probably the best written part in it.Sorry :-( This basic and formula like writing style and cliche typical demeanor and personality and dialogue of the characters that is 99.9% present when I give this genre a go just does not do it for me, though the concept was sort of good and I guess would make a cute rom com flick. Not to say someone else may find this book fantastic.
review 2: This book started so stinking sad.... I was bawling my face off and wondered if it was ever going to be happy ever again..... But it was! Kind of? Heart broken girl, doesn't want to talk to the guy she was engaged to, blah blah blah, but whole time I was busy wondering what sort of crazy secret this guy had that made him run away. And believe me I had felt her pain over jerk guys using and abusing you but once it started the back story I was very very curious. It is totally worth your time!!!!! So cute, so intriguing, and it made me want chocolate pretty much the whole time.... less
