review 1: Read 2/3 of it while having a manicure and pedicure....a short, fast, clear telling of the tale of those who crossed the Atlantic in the Mayflower. In a time when foolish Johnny Depp prances around in eyeliner pretending to be Squanto, sometimes the best stories are those of the real human adventure, struggle and spirit. It made me pause and to remember when settling this land, early settlers (separatists and strangers) chose to make peace (not war) and in the process left a legacy more courageous and honorable than those who more brutally founded Jamestown.
review 2: So I am not American, but in the description of this Kindle Single there was something that made me want to read this and am I ever glad I did. I have always known how controlling King James wa
... mores (ie. what he chose to put in and not put in the Bible) with regards to religion, so I appreciated that part of the story and then more so the information about the voyage, landing, etc. It is a quick read to get an accurate story on this part of history. less
