review 1: I read " The Memory Keeper's Daughter "several years ago and REALLY enjoyed the book. They actually make that book into a made for TV movie. In my opinion that set the "Bar" pretty high! However this book far surpassed "Memory Keeper's Daughter" I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a good story with twist , turns, mystery. Mixed with family dynamics ! A GOOD fiction romance!
review 2: I respectfully disagree with the negative comments that this book seems to be getting a lot. True, it's slower-paced than a lot of action-packed novels, but definitely much more rewarding in introspective, lyric and substance. It's just that the life flows slower in Upstate New York than in NYC, and people behave differently. The only thing is, I found ... morethe ending to be magically painless, all pieces mysteriously falling into place in the realm of several pages. Overall, a very nice, calm feeling about this book - I never wanted it to end - dreaming of visiting Finger Lakes again... less
