review 1: This book is a picture book. this book is intended for children ages 4-7. This book is about a pig who wants to go to school and learn how to read. When the pig shows up to school he realizes that he needs more than just a backpack and lunchbox to go to school. I believe this book is appealing to young children therefore I rated it with 5 stars. The pictures throughout the book are very appealing. Also, I loved the plot of the story because at the end of the story the big finally gets to go to school. I believe this book teaches children that they are able to learn if they put their mind to it and not to give up just like the little pig.
review 2: Rufus Leroy Williams III is the cutest little piglet I've seen since...well, since Piglet, I guess. He's just so co
... morenfident and eager and enthusiastic, how could the principal ever turn him down? He wants so badly just one thing: to learn to read his favorite book. He's got his backpack and his lunchbox and his blanket, and he's ready for school. The Principal says, "No pigs in school." Apparently, he thinks pigs track mud and make paper airplanes out of their school work. "No pigs in school." Just what does Rufus have to do to get to go to school???Absolutely adorable illustrations that are reminiscent of Holly Hobbie's Toot & Puddle combined with a spunky piglet make for one entertaining little picture book about the value of school and reading. I see this being used in early elementary classrooms during the first week of school to discuss classroom rules and what we "need" for school. less
