review 1: Didn't love this one and definitely would not put it anywhere near the same category as Gillian Flynn's Gone Girl... I have no clue why so many reviewers are comparing the two... Not on the same level at all! Too many side story lines and not enough closure with the ending for me. Seems like the book came to an abrupt ending. Although, the story wrapped up, it seems like some things were left unsaid.
review 2: It was fine - I enjoyed reading it because you wanted to see "who done it" but it was in no way Gone Girl and it did leave a lot of unanswered questions and plot holes. Still, worth a gander if you are looking for an entertaining beach read. Some books like this downright offend me with their patronizing dialogue and stupid plots but this one did not.
... more It was sophisticated enough to at least engage me. less
