review 1: Gotta say Jax made this book for me. His gentleness and patience with Ella was beautiful. Ella's trauma at the hands of her step-father was heart-breaking to read but her strength, especially to take a chance on Jax was truly inspiring.Honestly I feel I've been put through the emotional ringer reading Saving Ella; from hopeful to annoyed (every page Selena was on), disappointed (with Jax), and so pissed off (with Jax) that I had to stop reading and go do something else until I'd calmed down. But I prevailed and I'm glad I did, even if the end was predictable.A solid 4.5 star read.
review 2: I picked up this ebook because of Carmen Jenner's mention of it on a book blog. I am glad that I did. It was a great story of courage and strength, of love and hope, of trus
... moret and companionship. I adored Jax, he was sensitive and caring but not in a pussified kind of way. Ella was written believably, she wasn't the strong alpha female that a lot of authors write about when trying to portrait a survivor and neither was she a weak sniveling baby. Ms. Dallas wrote her as a survivor, fight or flight, one way or the other. She didn't need to be strong or weak, she just needed to make it to the next day. Wonderful writing. The other characters were great and I look forward to reading their stories. There was a lot of wit in this story and the conversations flowed well. Great start to a series. less
