review 1: **I received this book from Netgalley for my honest review***Tatiana Stone worked hard to get herself known as one of Section 4’s most skilled crafters. What she really wants is peace but her father’s sins continue to haunt her. He ruled the sector as a two-bit tyrant before the O’Kane takeover and TONS of people continue to remember those memories of his cruel actions, especially now that her little sister has gotten with a man who is wanting to start right back up where her father left off and start a huge revolution.Zan knows all about Tatiana for a long time. He has feelings for her and most likely would never had acted on them but Dallas pretty much told him to get over there and see if he could sway Tatiana to their side to see if with her on their side that wo... moreuld calm down talks of the rebellion. Only issue is, Tatianna doesn’t play Section politics and isn’t going to or willing to after the pain caused by her father before Dallas unseated him and took over. But to get her sister back from the creep who has control over here, she is willing to do anything. Even get with the O’Kanes and back them. She isn’t going to commit to them and she may never, for she finally has her independence and to a point, her freedom but when it comes to Zan, she may give up all for him. This is a novella and was a great read. It was only about 145 pages so the issue I think I had is everything was crammed into 145 pages. I felt there needed to be about 25-38 more pages to get more of Zan and Tatianna’s story out. I definitely felt for Tatianna. She had a bad upbringing due to her dad but she chose to not let him ruin her and she chose to be a better person in life. Now as for dating, that is different, she did let him control her and let him give her some issues there but that is understandable. I loved Zan-he was such an alpha male yet he knew what his woman needed to make it and he let her. Such a good novella but only issue was the length. More length and this would have been stellar. My rating: 4.0 stars ****
review 2: So this is the first book I have read in the series and by Kit Rocha. I want to say first that the heat between Tatiana and Zan was explosive. I feel like yes, it would have been better to have read the other books in addition to this one, but this book alone was awesome! The experience was not ruined by not having read the other books, it only made me want to find the other books so that I can devour them like I did this one. Tatiana and Zan both have lost a great deal in their life and are struggling to gain either control or love back into their life. I was confused at times due to mention of Gia because I had no clue who she was, but at the end of the day you really only needed to know what she did and how it affected Tatiana. I could not put this book down, I loved every second. This book had the whole package; the action keeps you locked in and the passion and domination between the couple leave you wanting more. Definitely a great read! I recieved this book as an ARC from Netgalley in exchange for my honest review.Tatiana Stone is the daughter of the previous ruler of the sector until he is killed by the Dallas O'Kane. After the takeover Tatiana tries to keep her head down and not choose sides between her fathers previous followers and the O'Kane's. She spends her days denying the attraction between her and Zan, one of Dallas O'Kane main enforcers. Unfortunately for her, her sister did not get the memo and falls in love with the leader of her fathers followers, making everyone watch Tatiana to see whose side she would choose.Zan feels like he has failed Dallas O'Kane on his last mission. So when Dallas O'Kane asks him to get everything under control in the sector by any means necessary, he knows that he means get Tatiana on their side. What should have been an easy task turns into crazy nights of passion, domination and good and bad moments that will never be forgotten. This book makes you remember that sometimes the best endings come from the worst beginnings! less
