review 1: This was a sweet easy read. The world building was creative however the story felt like it was missing some background info. I would love to see the author wrote a prequel to help support this lovely story. As well as a sequel. The story reads as a stand alone book but there is definitely room for a continuation of the characters lives. I'd love to see a return of the high elves so we can see the evening stars in action.
review 2: It was a bit slow going for the first majority of the book---except for kidnappings. This is a fun fantasy read with adventure and love. I adored the whole Evening Star concept: the dancers who are much more than they seem. K.M. Shea is just a wonderful storyteller, and I am starting to believe that I will enjoy anything she writes. H
... moreer characters are intelligent, her writing is insightful and flows so that you forget that you are reading and just enjoy the world she creates, and it's clean fantasy. I can happily recommend this to friends and family without reservations. less

Another fun one by this author. Good, clean, and witty with a few typos.
