review 1: Very interesting to learn about women in the military. I'm glad Hannah wanted to spotlight PTSD but her treatment of it made me cringe at times. Oversimplified and then wrapped up in to a happy-ish ending. That's simply not how grief or PTSD works. I repeatedly asked myself through the book, "would someone really do/say that?" I like reading Hannah's books and will continue to do so but this is not her finest hour.
review 2: This book is not horrible but just not my cup of tea. It was quite predictable and familiar. Jolene is a mom of two girls and she is struggling in her marriage. ... moreolene and Tami are informed they will be deployed to Iraq in two weeks. I bet you are already starting to figure out a few of the things that will happen and I won't bother writing them as it is late (or early depending on how you look at it) and I am too tired for that. Too sappy for my tastes. less
