review 1: Seperti biasa saya kejebak sama sale dan judul buku. Berhubung saya suka banget sama kopi begitu saya ngelihat buku dengan judul "The Espressologist" di rak buku sale 20%, langsung aja saya comot tanpa baca resensi di belakangnya. Begitu sampai kosan, saya langsung buka bukunya dan dari awal halaman pertama saya baru ngeh... Oh. My. God. Novel ABG. Bukannya saya mau sok tua dan nggak mau sama sekali baca novel ABG ya. Tapi, kayanya udah lewat masanya deh saya baca tentang highschool fling yang percaya kisah cinta mereka akan berakhir kaya dongeng-dongeng putri raja: "...and they live happily ever after."Well, anyway buku ini bercerita tentang seorang remaja SMA bernama Jane yang bekerja paruh waktu di kedai kopi "Wired Joe". Selama dia kerja paruh waktu ini dia suka iseng ... moremencatat kepribadian orang berdasarkan kopi pesanan mereka sehingga dia punya catatan lengkap tentang kepribadian orang berdasarkan kopi pilihannya. Bagaimana Em jika ia tahu Cam menyukai Jane? Temukan jawabannya di "The Espressologist"
review 2: I really REALLY wanted to like this book. I think the premise was fantastic, and I even liked some of the humor, but I just felt like Kristina's writing wasn't as developed as it could have been. This felt like a first draft to me. A lot of it was unrealistic (I kept waiting for one of the matches to unsuccessful but it NEVER happened), and while I really don't mind cheesy books (I write cheesy books, for crying out loud), this one was over-the-top cheesy. The villain turned angel is so Disney Channel, and it didn't work here. Not even a little bit. I think the author tried too hard to tie everything up in a neat little bow, and it felt forced. There were a lot of missed opportunities here as far as plot and character development go. Disappointed, but I won't let this stop me if I encounter another Kristina Springer book that sounds interesting. less
