review 1: The Santa Society by Kristine McCord is a one of a kind novel. It is the story of Erin Sinclair a young woman whose mother died almost a year prior to the beginning of the book. Erin meets a man named a Reason MacCord just a couple of weeks before Christmas and her life begins to be filled with unusual events.This is not the type of book I am typically drawn to and honestly I wouldn't have given it a second thought except for the fact that it's December and I decided to read a few Christmas themed books. I found the story extremely interesting. It has a sense of mystery, magic, and romance in all the right proportions. The author did a wonderful job of including details to support the extremely complex storyline. The characters are easy to relate to and there are a few del... moreightful characters that give the book that extra bit of magic. I loved the imaginative way Ms. McCord uses the Santa Society to explain the way Christmas works but doesn't take away from the true meaning of Christmas in the birth of Christ. This was a surprisingly good Christmas read! I would recommend this book to anyone who likes a bit of a mystery, romance or is looking for a good book to read in December. Great job!
review 2: I really liked this book. I expected it to be kind of a Hallmark movie type of book, but it was much more. It's a combination of a love story, clean romance, Christmas story, with a little bit of a Dan Brown type secret society and intrigue thrown in. I found myself not wanting to put it down. When I was done reading I had Christmas spirit, and felt a little like a young girl again... waiting for Santa. It is well written and a clean read. There were only two swear words If I remember right. less
