review 1: This was a confusing book for me. Don't get me wrong, it had a great message, but it seemed as though it was mislabeled as an adult book. I would highly recommend it as a Middle Grade/YA or even a New Adult book, but I don't think many older women need the lesson it imparts. There also wasn't much of a "Fairy Tale Romance" aspect to the story, but it did have some of the elements of a Fairy Tale within it. All in all, a fair read to preview before giving to my daughter, but not for an adult reader.
review 2: "Buck up and be a girl." That's the general idea of this book. Men suck, quit waiting for Prince Charming, and get on with your life. While I agree that girls should develop their own talents, interests, and intellects this book seemed to be missing
... morePart 2 - where a good and honorable guy does meet the girl and they create their own happily ever-after together. A brief fairy tale version of feminism. less

I thought it was a novelization of a fairy tale, but really is a morality tale. completely lame.
