review 1: I received The Never Never Sisters by L. Alison Heller from (Goodreads First Reads) this website Goodreads. This book was a really good read, a very easy read, and had I started it on a weekend I probably would have read it straight through. This book felt like a normal progression of a woman’s revolving life and secrets. The relationship between Paige and Dave was interesting; however, I did not like how he continually lied to Paige. Paige is a therapist, and as a reader I felt that she overlooked things going on with Dave that she tells her clients that they need to face which was interesting. I do feel though that the author left out some things about Sloane which I as a reader would have wanted to know, because sometimes she came off like a petulant child. I fe... morelt sorry for the parents of the book, especially to the mother (Vanessa) trying so hard to reach out to a daughter, she had not seen in years, like Sloane and being rejected continually. I did like how Paige still had a relationship with her parents as an adult; sometimes you do not see that in the real world. Paige reading her mom’s journals was interesting, I do not know if I could do that. I do like all of the characters, and really liked the character of Percy. I am hoping that there is a follow-up to find out what happens next to these characters.
review 2: I am only giving this book a 3 star, I'm still not sure if I even liked this book, I did not really like any of the characters, the two sisters, the mom or even the dad. Sloane was addicted to drugs, she was sent away for help, but she never returned. Paige has had a semi perfect life, the best life can offer, but has a sister that she hasn't seen in years. Paige's husband is not the most honest or likeable guy either, he gets caught doing something illegal, but you are glad hes caught. I did like the private eye she (Paige hires, the story did not really get into Sloane's addiction, why it was hush, hush, there was a lot of miss guided feelings towards the parents? The book ended okay, the story somewhat coming to a close. less

Didn't enjoy the characters. Found them all to be self absorbed and whiny.
