review 1: I suffered with Jay. I think that's what makes a good book. When the author can get you to feel what the characters are feeling. And I did. My heart ached, my stomach cramped. I hurt for and with Jay. I read book one and it was interesting that this book actually happened before the events of book 1. That threw me at first. But I think it worked out to see that connection between Jay and Aaron.
review 2: This one just didn't pack the same punch for me as book 1. Although it was similar to book one in many ways, I really struggled to keep up with and understand Peter. Even though his back story was more fully explained at the very end of the book, by that time I was just a little frustrated with him. Jay was easy to love. Easy to feel for. Easy to respect.... more The author continued to do a fantastic job making my stomach drop and my heart hurt at all the right times. Even with my frustration with Peter, it was a good story with a side of angst and I won't hesitate to give the author's next book a try. 3.5 stars less
