review 1: I really liked this book! This is the first book I've read by Lane Hayes, and it was great! I listened to the audible version and I LOVE the narrators voice, sultry and sexy! This is a well written story about a man discovering who he is and finding the love of his life. Matt assumes he's straight, until he sees Aaron in a club and everything changes for him. He finds himself drawn to Aaron, for his beauty, and his personality. The two begin a very tentative friendship that turns in to a very sweet romance. Great characters, great plot, great writing, and fantastic sex scenes!
review 2: Edited.. I know I said at the end of my review that I wanted more and Lane was kind enough to give us more. If you check out her blog she has posted a short story called "Better
... moreThan Candy" it is broken up into 7 different blog entries, and it closes out Matt and Aaron's story beautifully. If you enjoyed this book, you need to find the blog entries and read them! :)Matt is a law student in his last year of school. He is tall, good looking and has a girlfriend. Every thing is going good in his life, until he goes out with one of his roommates, who happens to be gay, and his life is turned upside down when he runs across the most beautiful man he has ever seen. Aaron, a aspiring photographer is a small Latino, and very openly gay. They dance and Matt leaves the club, but can't stop thinking of Aaron all week. They meet again the next week at a different bar and spend the night talking. Matt knows he is attracted to Aaron, they share a kiss and go their separate ways. Matt manages to finally break up with his girlfriend, and again runs into Aaron. Can he convince Aaron to give them a shot?I LOVED this book. I devoured every word. I never skipped ahead, skimmed a paragraph or felt bored. I didn't want this book to end. I loved Matt and Aaron characters. I really enjoyed my time with them. My only complaint. I wanted an epilogue. It ended too abruptly. I was kind if shocked when I got to the lat word of the book, but that's just me. I like my stories wrapped up nice a tidy with a bow on top. This wasn't a cliffhanger, it just left you to assume on your own what was in store. Hopefully there will be another book or novella in the future for these two. I will be reading Jay and Peters story, even though it takes place mostly in the past, from the reviews I have read, maybe this will give me more insight to Matt and Aaron's future. I am looking forward to more of this authors work in the future! less
