review 1: A Touch of Midnight novella was first found in the Midnight Breed Series Companion as a bonus to the longtime fans of the Midnight Breed Series by Lara Adrian. That being said if you have no knowledge of her Breed world that is fine! This was the second Novella I read by Lara and my second exposure to the Midnight Breed world; While I didn’t have much background information on the world rules, of the Breed, I found this novella a fulfilling read, that I could easily follow, that made me very curious about the other members of the Order and want to read more of the series. If you are at all intrigued with this world after reading this novella you will most likely enjoy the full series.The prequel novella A Touch of Midnight is set in Boston in the 1970s and tells the stor... morey of how Savannah and Gideon first met and fell in love. In addition the story has a dynamic murder mystery woven into the 1970’s era paranormal, all set at a fast paced Boston college campus.For fans of the series it answers some of the questions about why Gideon always wears some type of glasses indoors, why Savannah’s sister know about the breed and is allowed to keep that memory, explains Gideon’s love of technology, his eccentric relationship with all his computers, and other questions.Both long-time fans of the series and new readers looking for something different will enjoy this novella.
review 2: I haven't read the rest of this series, but this was rated well.It's actually pretty long and completes a story arch, which was nice. The characters are introduced enough to make the story understandable and I would be interested in reading the rest of the series just so learn more about them.The foundation is there, so if you want a fairly quick read with lots of paranormal stuff, this is great. less
