review 1: Well, there's some spelling errors (for example, coup is spelled coo) and the grammar is horrible at several momments. I kept reading because I thought at first I was reading a book by a Russian author whose grip on English was a little bit sketchy.Turns out that it's not written by a Russian, just by someone who turned off their spellcheck. The story itself is okay, I guess, but the writing is distracting. The protagonist is spectacularly stupid and has absolutely no personality. The guy is a bit of a creeper, but passable. The other characters involve mostly people who don't speak much and a guy who is pretending to be gay... Yeah, not much going on aside from the guy and his insta-love problem.Google apparently doesn't work in this universe... IDK, SMH...Should not have ... morefinished it, it's very bad, really, but I'm trying to puff up my Goodreads count and I don't much care what with.
review 2: 3.5 stars for Dmitry's closet. The story starts with Royal a early twenty 's black woman looking for a job. After half a day of looking she walks into a restaurant to have lunch. There she meets Dmitry a tall hot russian. She has lunch with him and he offers her a job. Dmitry is attracted to her and he offers her a managers position in his clothing store called, dmitry's closet (love the name). She accept and gets to live in the appartment above the store.Royal and Dmitry start flirting with each other and fall in love. But little does she know that Dmitry has secrets. He is a Russian maffia boss and dangerous. Royal acts dumb and doesnt want to see where all the money and diamonds come from. And then she meets Ivan, Dmitry's little brother.Ivan is a man thats hurting and is after revenge and power. He plans to get it the only way he knows, with violence....This story is far from perfect. There are typos and other things but one of the things that bothered me is the way that the interracial relationship is portrait.Royal is a black woman living in the south of america. Dmitry is a white man and there isnt a mention of the difference in race. It seems to me that if you date out of your race like Dmitry an Royal you will get comments or whatever. The only comment that is made about race is from Anatoly (love him) Dmitry's son when he ask his father where his love for black women comes from.I can understand Royal not adressing the issue because Dmitry is her first and she is a foster child without family or friends.Maybe she grew up with white parents, who knows. But even when Cory and Renee her co-workers tries to let her see the truth she sticks her head in the sand. And whats with all the black woman in this series having long flowing hair an bright brown eyes. Even the darkskin women. The writer is a black woman and it seems to me that she would get this right. But hey, maybe she figured that this would make for better reading. And the seks, ugh. It seems that m/m has spoiled me because for me it was lacking. The only good thing about it was the size of Dmitry's 'you know what'. less
