review 1: I actually want to give this 3.5 starsI struggled with this book and I’m not sure why. It has all the great elements of hot Cops/FBI/Drug Lords/Beautiful scenic locations/ Sexy foreign accents and phrasing and still I didn’t love it? Is it because I was expecting the complication and was disappointed when it came to fruition? Maybe. What I can say is it is a well constructed and executed story with great tension and a HEA resolution. The language is delightful and the feel of the book is exciting. If you love cops (not my favourite) and you like the chase of getting the bad guys in the end then I think you would really enjoy this.
review 2: Loved this book. Gabriel can be a bit of an a-hole - he's hot-headed and confrontational, but I love Antonio. He's cool
... more, calm and in-charge, and he gets under Gabriel's skin. The two of them together = a very hot combination. Halfway through is when it gets even better. Gabe's life is changed in a profound way and Antonio is there to help him, no matter how much he pushes him away. The sex scenes... good lawd the sex scenes. They were HOT, and shows the passion between the two men really well. I'm forcing myself to think of this as a stand-alone book, even though there's supposed to be a sequel (which readers are still waiting for, 5 years later). I would love to read more of these two. less
