review 1: Oh, I love a story where the devil comes to collect his due. It's fun seeing how people manage to get around a semi-deity much more powerful than themselves. Of course, it helps to have awesome friends. I love the turmoil involved with the soulmate issue. Too many stories with soul mates turn sappy, bypassing most of the misunderstandings and difficulties involved in most relationships. These two might be soul mates, but their relationship is far from perfect. Also, the incubi popping in were awesome; gotta love random naked men appearing out of thin air! I will definitely check out more from this author.
review 2: I was delighted to see this as a freebie on Amazon, since I really enjoyed book 1. I got really nervous as I was reading because up until about 80% ... more(yes, that late) I was really feeling like this was a filler book. No real conflict, action, etc. Well, that last bit really ramps up in action, though I am hesitant to say there was a ton of it. It happens really quick.Anyhow, the storytelling is the same; pacing seems okay but again no real conflict. I didn't realize I had made it so far through the book, since it felt like nothing happened. I almost wanted there to be more love-triangle issues just to have something happen!As usual, Oliver is there for comedic relief. Not really new characters of importance - or maybe I'm dismissing them too early...Editing seemed flawless. less
