review 1: Jules and Gideon and Cal. Choppy, uneven story with some good parts mixed in. I liked all the characters, but the romantic unit with all three seemed awkward and unrealistic for me. Really, it should have been sorry you're too late for Cal. I never bought into the reasons that Gideon pushed them toward a shared situation. I can understand how Cal and Gideon both loved Jules, but their insta-love for each other was not believable. Suspending the disbelief over that, the triad sexy times were total hotness and well-written. This book is partially a continuation of the Brown series. We get Adrian and Gillian's wedding and those parts were lovely. I liked Erin could be a sounding board for Jules. I enjoyed all interactions with the greater Brown family characters. It was nice ... morethat Gideon's grandfather and Cal's family were accepting of their unconventional relationship. On the flip side, I feel the writing gets bogged down when the storyline focuses on characters who don't support or actively hate on the f/m/m relationships. That happened in the prior books with family members of Todd and Ben, and it happens here with Jules' brother. I understand the point in showing the emotional toll of unaccepting family, but it really breaks up the story. I also actively disliked the entire plot with Jules' parents and later her Dad and his younger wife. Hated the way she behaved in regards to them. Glad she changed by the end but I have to wonder if it will stick. Again, good parts throughout but uneven as a whole.
review 2: I loved this book. It is an extension of the Seattle Brown series which is one of my all time favorites. It is similar to Erin's story which I loved as well. This book is about Jules and the two men she loves. It is a relationship with 3 people that love each other. It has a tragic tale of a girl (Jules) who has a horrible relationship with her immediate family through no fault of hers so she gets to pick her family and she has done extremely well in doing so. She has a great group of friends and the awesome love of two men who would both do anything for her. I definitely recommend this book and the series as a whole is awesome. less
