review 1: I'm going to give it a 3.5 stars. I like it, it was short and sweet and I was so into it that it was hard for me to put it down! But..The story is about Mr. Rich Jock that doesn't want to work for his dad's company over the summer and decides to take a summer film class. He ends up getting stuck doing a project with a grump goth girl. Someone he isn't into.Too make a long story short.. it's kinda like the movie Pretty Woman. Ethan changes Stephanie's hair, make up, and clothes and takes her home and she pretends/fakes to be his girlfriend. Both Stephanie and Ethan both have their own issuse though. They both work through them together. They don't wanna fall in love..but they do. What I didn't like...They both start having feelings for each other but they don't hardly expre... moress those feeling because they are unsure of what the other will react to it. I think it would have been better if both would have been a little more open about their feelings for each other.
review 2: I am still a bit conflicted within myself about liking these New Adult/kinda romancey reads (it's an old prejudice within me), but I think/hope that I can come to terms with liking a sort of not forbidden per se, but a kind of not talked about genre (at least not in my circle of friends/family)... And I hope that one day I will be content enough with myself that I can say, proudly, that I also like this kind of books/stories.... I mean, they are fast and easy reads, and from the two that I have read, I quite like the characters, and the stories, so why wouldn't I want to read them?I was quite fond of both the main characters in this one, and I kept wanting to know what would happen next, although, I guess the ending might have been a bit predictable, but I didn't care, I was satisfied with it...I think maybe I could identify a bit more with Ethan, in the sense that a lot of times I too do not know how to express my feelings, simply because I am unsure of what exactly they are, although my reason for not being able to do that comes from a great many years of trying to surpress my feelings (unsuccessfully, of course, which have led to quite a few conflicts in my time)... But at the same time, I could absolutely understand why Stephanie was so guarded with herself, and vary of opening up and trusting people.... less
