The One Dollar Horse
review 1: I've got the first two books of this trilogy from my college library because we're all encouraged to borrow books for the holidays and there is very little to the fiction section. Plus all my friends have read these books and recommended them to me so I thought what the hell and went for them. I'm not disappointed but I'm not that impressed either. This book was very realistic, not the type of fiction I go for. But there again I do like stories where horses are involved and this story was quite moving and I felt for the characters. But towards the middle it did drag a bit. I'd better get book two read before the holidays end.
review 2: Took me back to my childhood when I loved reading books about horses and having big dreams. The story is about Casey Blue who
... morelives in Hackney and volunteers at the local stables. One night when walking home she comes across a frightened horse that has been sent to the knackers yard but has escaped. She ends up buying the horse for a dollar and the story then follows what happens to the pair as they start out in the world of eventing. There are ups and downs but I won't give anything away here, It was a book I happened across by chance. It was easy to read but with believable characters. I am definitely going to read the next book to see in next in store for Casey and Storm. less

Loved this book, it's teenage fiction but I thoroughly enjoyed it.
