review 1: I have loved or at least like a lot all the books that Ms. Brooke has published to this point. This book just didn't do anything for me. It is a great concept and most of the characters are very likable. However Marc and Bailey just rubbed me the wrong way. They are both antagonistic and belligerent. Bailey can't believe her own eyes about Marc and James being shifters. She is denies the truth over and over almost to the end of the book. She also thinks that she can handle any problem with her bat even though she has been attacked and hurt several times in this story. Marc is just as bad. He doesn't want fate deciding who is mate is. He wants to have a choice. Bailey feels the same way and they continue to snipe at each other through the whole story almost. I do... moren't know maybe the story just caught me in a bad frame of mind but I have doubts that I will read another book in this series. I am hoping that I am wrong and the next book will be wonderful.
review 2: When Bailey Knox is attacked she believes she is about to die, not realizing she is about to be rescued by two men. James Archer and Marcus Brand are not sure what the scent they are smelling is, until they hear a womans scream.Both men quickly realize they have found their mate. While one is willing to claim her, the other is struggling with the card fate handed him. Bailey thinks both men are nuts as they talk about being a mate an panthers, when they set out to claim her Bailey can't deny the pull between them is getting stronger each time she feels their touch.Not one of my favorites by Leah Brooke, it was good but I struggled a bit with liking Marcus and Bailey,they both seem to claw at one another trying to stay in control of the situation. I would try the next one and see if it gets better. less
