review 1: This cute picture book tells the story of a cat that becomes adopted by a young boy. The entire book is about the different adjustments this animal faces, all from the cat's point-of-view. Haiku is the perfect form of verse to tell a cat's story and this book does not disappoint. I think all children would enjoy reading this story because it's completely different from the typical picture book. It shows young readers how a newly adopted animal has to settle in to his new home. It also tells young readers of the normal behavior of cats and the things they do each day. The ending is my favorite part of this adorable book, but I won't give it away for those who haven't read it!
review 2: Won-Ton: A Cat Tale Told in Haiku is a very touching story about a cat and hi
... mores journey with becoming a part of his new adopted family. The whole story is written in Haiku, which is extremely simple wording for younger audiences to read and follow. It has humor embedded in the text, which makes it very appealing. The illustrations are very simple yet are a great addition to the text. The story is written from the cat Won-Ton's point of view, as he goes through his adoption by a young boy. This story is very touching and funny at times as Won-Ton finds himself exploring his new home and figuring out this new life. It is almost separated into chapters with pages with headings such as “The Shelter”, making it an easy read for all ages. It would be great to use in a classroom to introduce poetry to students to show a different side of what poetry is like. A lot of times people mistake poetry for being something its not, and this form allowed readers to experience poetry in a different light that may be more appealing for younger audiences. less

Definitely not the usual stuff I read, but still very fun and true. A great gift for children.
