review 1: A lot of this book sickened me because of the intergenerational infidelity. Is this how the world functions now? Is it simply part of our culture now that people can't be expected to be faithful in a marriage? I understand that the author may have been trying to encourage the reader to think about the family that is unconditionally supportive in one's life, but the point wasn't profound or inspiring. None of the characters had any significant regret about their digressions. The whole book was discouraging.
review 2: This book was a good read. Struggled between a 3 or 4 star rating. The characters were so self centered that I found myself disliking them. I couldn't tell if it was good writing or a bad storyline. Sometimes the author intends to have people
... moredislike a character, but all of them? I kept on reading to see if they would dig deeper into their story lines. I didn't get enough of what I was looking for. It did keep me up all night reading though. less
