review 1: Refreshing, new spin on urban fantasy. I was very pleasantly surprised with this new series. Ms. Evans has just the right amount of layers in this series, good chemistry between hero and heroine and enough new twists to bring a new series to life. I'm so glad to find an author who is not just reinventing the same story and using formulaic plot lines to get us to the end of her book. I look forward to reading the remaining books in the series.
review 2: This author and book were suggested to me and I have to say I'm not disappointed. The story is clever and funny at times. I started the book and couldn't put it down. ... moreha! Merry is a hoot, she's so expressive for something that can't talk. Now, not everything was great I felt that Hedi seemed a little wishy washy like she wanted to be that heroin but wasn't at times almost like she didn't know what she wanted. I also felt a little lost at times like the author was trying not to spell out certain things like Cordelia. Overall the first book for the author was good and the second better I'm excited to read the third installment from Leigh Evans. less
