review 1: This book is hilarious down to every page, every last word. If you love Parks & Rec, like I do, you would probably enjoy this. It is filled with quirky to insane "facts" about the town the tv show is set in, and is full of each character's voice. I could definitely hear Leslie Knope reading to me. It's not the kind of book you can sit and read for hours (unless you're Leslie Knope) but I really enjoyed it.
review 2: If you don't mind picking up a book at random in between other books you're reading and reading a section or two before putting it back down, this is a wonderful book for that. But I prefer to read books all in order, and one at a time. This was a difficult book for me to get through. I love the show Parks and Recreation that it's based off of, and
... moreall of the writing was wonderfully in-character for everyone who had a part to contribute. This is a good coffee-table type book, which is what it was meant to be, I assume. Just like in the show, Leslie Knope can get a little overbearing and overwhelming when taken in in too high of doses. Which is why it's good for sparse readings here and there, and not a sit-down, read it cover-to-cover setting. This in-universe book shtick is wonderful otherwise. less
