CELEBRATING SRI LANKA, DIVERSE BOOKS, AND A HUNDRED FOLLOWERS
My fair skin and western-ish name can often be very misleading. In case you didn’t know, I’m Sri Lankan, and so is my co-blogger Shehani. A little bit of history for ya: Sri Lanka, our lovely island home, formerly known as Ceylon, gained its independence from the British on the 4th of February 1948.
Do you see where I’m going with this?
When I first started this blog, it was mostly a place where my friend Manushee and I could voice our bookish opinions. Just a hobby. Something that we did whenever we had the time. But four-ish years in (I’ve lost count), this blog has become something I am truly invested in, and want to see grow, my weird schedules be damned.
We hit a hundred followers last week and, taking our 69th Independence celebrations into consideration, we cooked up an idea to celebrate all these things at once and host our, wait for it…
