review 1: I liked how they took things slow. Gavin was extremely patient with her. If you're a fan of suspense in romance, this isnt for you. The suspense portion was barely a blip in the radar. Also, Gavin's background was hardly mentioned. We know he's smart, sexy, good looking, but how does he stack up against Daren? I felt like the author could have given us more info about him. All in all, it was good though. 3.5 but I'm rounding up.
review 2: The first part of the book 2 stars but I got into it in spite of feeling annoyed with the writing-over the top characterizations of the female characters always calling each other "sluts" and the like as terms of endearment but also not. I wanted Clementine to be a bit more nuanced. I feel a little jaded about the "cut off ric... moreh girl."However, I was into it as it went alongI liked Gavin. Enough said. I found the mystery aspect engaging. I read it quickly and liked the middle and ending far more. less
