Big Nate: Novels
review 1: Grads 3-6. RL 450. A graphic novel hybrid. Great high-interest/low readability choice. PS 38 is tired of being beaten by rival Jefferson Middle School in almost everything. The latest frustration is that Jefferson's drawing club makes amazing artwork. Their teacher wants them to recruit girls for the Doodling Club. And then the unthinkable happens-- Jefferson Middle School is flooded by the sprinkler system and they have to actually start attending school at Jefferson until repairs can be made. Very funny.
review 2: I decided to read this book because I had recently finished the Diary of a wimpy kid book series and heard this book was similar to it. The plot of the story is Nate gets in trouble for drawing in class. So Nate decides to create a drawing club bu
... moret there are many problems that he faces. My favorite quote in the story is after Nate and his friends beat Jefferson in the snow sculpture contest, and then Nate says to Nolan " No one wins at everything". I like this quote because it is a very funny moment in the book. I liked the author's point of view and writing style because it was very descriptive. I would recommend this book to any of my friends that have read Diary of a Wimpy kid and enjoyed reading it. less
