review 1: Sins of the Sons is the second book in the Grigori Legacy series and oh my, it was another wild ride into the wonderful world of angels and demons, of heaven and hell and all things in between!Alex was slowly trying to rebuild her life after the devastation of losing her home, her soul-mate and nearly her job. Tied to a desk and forced to participate in counseling where she's unable to share the truth, she is determined to put the past behind her.Even here, at the start of Book 2, her pain, uncertainty and fear of humanity's survival comes through strongly, totally immersing the reader into a plethora of emotions that once again leave you gasping.I was expecting the story to continue around Alex and Aramael as they struggle to avoid Armageddon, but Ms Poitevin takes you in... more a wholly unexpected direction. Seth Benjamin, the son of The One and Lucifer, is prophesied to be the one who would make the final choice for mankind - saving or destroying. Free will and love, both forbidden in heaven, results in the "rebirth" going horribly wrong and Seth is sent to earth, not as a child who would grow up and experience both the good and bad of the world, but as a fully-grown adult with no memories of who he is/was.And so the action kicks off....Ms Poitevin delves deeper into the mythology of Angels and the Fallen, the heart-wrenching snap of breaking soul bonds, human fragility and endless hope, how love is both the cause of the current devastation and the platform for future peace. Would Armageddon even be a possibility if The One hadn't given up on love...This author took an unprecedented leap in her style of writing, world building and story line. Ms Poitevin has the awe-inspiring capability to keep her readers guessing, enthralled and panting for more. I know I certainly am!
