review 1: I learned from Bookbub that this ebook was on sale for only $0.99, so I didn't had a lot of expectation, but was I surprised! I will definitely be getting the sequel! It was a fun read that anyone who had to ever work in customer service can relate to. I work in a print center, and I also have to talk to a lot of customer on the phone about their projects. Reading this during break was amusing after a tough day. The character's voice was pleasant and real. The main character, Maddie, has a journalism degree. The books is very much about the interaction with her friends and people in call center, so there are many very modern day references. As an immigrant, sometimes I went like "Umm, that's an American celebrity, right? Wait, where is my laptop? I need Google!" But it is ... morea modern book, talking about a girl who got a job in a job center after college because of the recession, so it was in tune with its time. The references actually brought a sense of reality, so I like it quite a bit. I have also read the preview for the next book at the end of this end. The voice of Maddie's friends, Kars, is also very distinct yet different, so I look forward to reading that.
review 2: I'm just going to go ahead and admit that I read this because it was on my Kindle and I was sick and wanted to read something not taxing. Also I had just read a bunch of YA dystopias so I needed something less grim. This surprised me in a good way. Maddy was a relatable character and her whole struggle with finding a job and then taking the one that she could get certainly hit home. Was it pure fluff? Yes but sometimes one needs pure fluff. less

The story is ok, but the grammar errors are really distracting.

Pretty bad. Maybe I'd have liked this as a teenager.
