review 1: The Peach Blossom Inn rises again! Leelee Satterfield is back in Memphis after leaving her inn in Vermont. Adjusting to life as a single mom and working at the local radio station, she meets the rock star of her teen age dreams, Liam White. Accompanying him on a trip to New York, she finds that the rock star of yesteryear may not be the man of her future. So, back to Memphis she goes, where she decides to open the Memphis arm of the Peach Blossom Inn. Only where will she find a chef?Leelee and her quirky friends, Alice, Virginia, and Mary Jewel are delightful. Having lived my life in the south, I see my friends in all these characters. I cannot wait to read the third in the Dixie series, Southern as a Second Language. Where will Leelee and the girls go next? What of the Gl... moreadys Kravitz Agency? And where is Peter?
review 2: Meh. As others said, sloppy editing. Timing makes no sense. I kind of wonder if Leelee was supposed to be in her forties and the publisher made Patton make her younger. At 33 in 2009, she would be my age, but all the cultural references were for someone raised in the early 70s instead of the 80s. For example, LeeLee seeing Elvis in his front yard at Graceland when she was a girl? Elvis died is 1977. Whatever. Just a boring story with an unlikable heroine. less

Not as good as Whistlin Dixie, but still an enjoyable read. Great, absolutely endearing characters.

I didn't read the first book so I can't compare. This was an easy read. It was enjoyable.

Not as good as the first one. Story seemed predictable and poorly written.
