review 1: Where do I start with this book. I honestly loved how the story began, and I however cruel it may be, the idea of bringing back gladiator sports makes a very interesting novel. However, I felt that once the story got going a bit, I found it boring and unrealistic, even for a sci-fi/dystopian novel like this. The story could have been easily kept interesting without adding in all of the little "excuses" so to call them. If you think about it, If Lise Haines hadn't have added the whole "virtual Lyn" concept, Lyn still would have gone into the arena, the incident with Thad could still happen, and the rest of the ending would have worked out just as fine.Overall, I enjoyed the basic ideas in the novel Girl in the Arena, however, I felt that some things could have been left out... more that would have made this book more understandable, relatable, and realistic.
review 2: Since Goodreads doesn't allow for half stars, here I'll declare that I'm giving it a 2.5. I thought the concept was interesting and had potential, but the book fell short of what I was expecting I guess? Plus, the writing was sometimes choppy and the -Dashes instead of "Quotes," when people were speaking made the book a bit confusing/hard to follow. While reading the book, I felt like I just kept waiting and waiting for it to get better and then it sorta fizzled unfortunately. less

Lo que más me agradó es que no fuera escrito pensando en una saga. Adoro las no-trilogías.

I thought it was a nice book to read because it's a nice change from what's popular now.
