review 1: I received this book in a give-away, and so glad I did. This book was hard reading. There was just too much Evan and not enough on Evan and Julie. It would have been different if this book was called Evan, then I wouldn't have had to force myself through the first part of the book. When it finally got to them, it was good writing and a great story. This was my first book on the topic of BDSM, so it was exciting. Thinking will have to explore this in the future.
review 2: Holy Cow! Liz has done it again. I just finished this book and am still processing it. I really loved how Liz began the book. It was a bit different from other books I have read of hers and was so powerful. While this is part of a series, it truly is a stand alone. I have not read any of t
... morehe other books and felt like I was not missing out on anything by not having have read them. That being said, I am so reading them asap. This book does hit on some pretty heavy topics, but Liz does it in a very authentic way and while they can still be heart wrenching, I never felt they were there to shock as I do in many books. This is, at the heart, a love story, but if you are looking for sunshine and rainbows, this book is probably not for you. If you are looking for a well written, an emotionally real love story (you will shed some tears) with lots of heat ( and kink) and characters you feel you know even if you have never met anyone like them, this book is for you. less
