review 1: I don't like liver. Never have and never will. That's the reason it took me so long to start reading Liver Let Die. But when a friend of mine invited me to join Liz Lipperman's street team, I figured I should read one of her books. Well, let me tell you, I love liver now. Jordon McAllister is a personals writer for the local paper. When she is asked to take over writing the food column for the injured author, it takes her to a very expensive and newly opened dining spot. When she orders, the waiter suggests duck liver. Jordon can't bring herself to eat it so she dumps it in her purse. What else she dumped in her bag has her looking over her shoulder, dodging killers and in the mix meeting a very handsome, and single FBI agent. What happens will have you on the edg... moree of your seat. Not only all the excitement, romance, and fun in the book, but the yummy sounding recipes will bring me back for the next book. It's a must read for sure.
review 2: For a first novel, this was ok. But with 2 different plot lines and a heroine taking ridiculous risks, the story lacked in more ways than one. Bringing in her Catholic upbringing so far into the novel was like an add-on for no reason. Totally unnecessary. As was the fact or lack thereof as to whether the coach was married or not. That did not move the story along. Also, the timeline left much to be desired. Days and weeks became one with each other from one page to the next. The ending was predictable and not at all unexpected for the reader. I will give the editors of Ms. Lipperman another chance with the next novel. If an editor fails to catch the discrepancies and faulty story lines, the author will continue to muddle through. less
