review 1: Evenfall by Liz Michalski has everything you need to make a great story. Vivid characters, a strong sense of place, interesting plot elements to keep it moving, and a few lessons to learn in the meantime. I did expect Frank, the ghost, to play more of a part in the story, but he helped fill the back-story nicely. Overall, I enjoyed learning about the lives of these characters and pondering on the messages I felt the story was sending.
review 2: I really liked this book, right up until the ending. The ending dropped it from a 5 to a 4 star. I liked the setting, I liked the charaters, but maybe I just wasn't ready for it to end. For me it felt like there wasn't enough time left at the end and it felt hurried to me. I would have liked more about Gert, and for ... moreme she was the least fleshed out. Which was too bad because she was my favorite. less
