Women of Courage
review 1: I was intrigued by the characters. Their faith and courage were inspiring. From what I've been told the situation is very realistic in regard to the conditions of living in war torn Europe during WWII. It gave some redeeming value to some of the Germans who were just doing their jobs. It made the characters seem more real. It makes me wonder if I could be that brave. The war is part of the story and it's horrors are there just graphically so. It is a good book and a good read. If you enjoy historical fiction you will enjoy this book.
review 2: Liz Tolsma's Snow on the Tulips is a haunting WWII story set in the Netherlands that reminded me of Bodie Thoene's early books. A young woman is pushed outside of what she knows she should do in order to do the right thin
... moreg. In the process she pulls those she loves deeper into the web of deception and danger as the Germans actively look for the resistance member she is protecting. And just as tulips peep through the snow, so hope peeps through the pages of this book. less
