review 1: This is a great book If you like Historical fiction and facts about World War 2. It was a great book but very sad when they tell about the horrors of the concentration and work camps. It tells how the people were living like after the war was over. It was horrible. This is a book for guys who are into war stories and world war 2 planes. Over all this was a very good book. My favorite part of this book was when Henry finds the women he needs to find pierre. It was good and then he wasn't there and my heart sank.
review 2: I managed to read this book, the sequel, first and liked it enough to go back and read the prior book, A War-torn Sky. I am happy to report that reading them out of order in no way lessened my enjoyment and understanding of the books. I pers... moreonally hate books that have to be read in order. As a librarian, I know how hard it is to get all the books, keep all the books, etc., when they just HAVE to be read in ORDER!As World War II is ending, Henry Forester is still in conflict. Henry was shot down in France, ran and hid from the Nazi, and finally made it home. But what about those who risked everything to help him, especially a small boy named Pierre. Henry finally decides that he has to go back (anyway he can) and make sure Pierre is safe.The action is fast, the characters are believable, and if you haven't already read the first book, you'll want to read it now - and you'll still find it totally enjoyable! less
