review 1: When the handsome, widowed doctor, Carson Langley, meets his young daughter’s creative dance class instructor/professional ballerina Penelope Glazier, neither was in a mindset for love. Carson comes alive as a single father struggling to do the best for his daughter who misses having a mommy. Penelope, who at more than a decade younger than Carson, is still actively pursuing her career as a dancer. As Penelope spends her time recuperating from a dancing injury teaching dance lessons to little girls, a bond is formed between her and Carson’s daughter, Eloise. I thought their connection was simply beautiful, and Eloise especially makes a stunning transformation as Penelope helps her deal with the tumultuous emotions of her mother’s death. Is Carson still in love w... moreith his deceased wife, or is he ready to make a new life with another woman? Is Penelope, at her young age, ready to give up her passion for a quiet home life and motherhood? Lola Karns does a fabulous job of handling the romance between Carson and Penelope, whose physical attraction is immediate, but their relationship progresses cautiously and realistically. Eloise comes first for the both of them, and neither Carson or Penelope is quick to promise what Eloise admits she wants – Penelope as her new mommy. The author does such a wonderful job of weaving through an already complex situation, (compounded by too-close ex-in-laws who don’t like the idea of their deceased daughter being replaced), and making a believable and intense love connection between hero and heroine. Winter Fairy is a lovely, satisfying and realistic story that reminds us all that loss can bring second chances, and one passion doesn’t have to block out all others.
review 2: Winter Fairy is a sweet, heart warming story full of tender moments. Lola Karns expertly sets the story against a backdrop of dance and music. She uses magical imagery to create a fairy world for Carson Langley to fall in love with his daughter’s ever-graceful dance teacher, Penelope. I loved Carson, a true hero, who puts his daughter’s welfare first. Penelope may think she’s found the man of her heart in Carson, but they can never be together until ghosts from the past are finally put to rest. less

Light read. I found myself skipping around a bit toward the end.

Subtract the Sex scenes and you have a Hallmark Channel Movie.
