review 1: I loved this book. It gave great insights into what Emma's life was like before, during and after her marriage to Joseph. Her relationship with Lucy, and her parents. I would recommend to anyone looking to learn more about Emma. The last part was so emotional for me because it is told by one of her children how she cried for Joseph every day until she died. She raised the illegitimate child of her second husband and a girl friend. What a loving and misunderstood lady.
review 2: I have never given Emma much thought, and have always wondered about her testimony since she didn't stay with the Church. This book did a good job with the amount of evidence available showing her perspective and strengths. I really admire her! I especially admire how she was a
... moretalented, strong lady who was, at the same time, temperate and Christlike. No wonder Joseph loved her so much. I can also understand much better what most probably happened after Joseph died. less

More church history than Emma's actual feelings, ideas, and words. Good book for a summary though.
