review 1: Captivating & Intriguingly Spellbinding!Hands down, out of the three books I have read in this series so far - this has got to be a favorite. My heart and praise goes out to Shandi Martin (Human) for her survival of cervical cancer. She is the perfect hero to look up too when it comes to beating cancer. Her story is captivating as she emotionally deals with life and living with the consequences from her chemotherapy and radiation treatments to beat the cancer. With a broken heart in her past from dealing with a dick of a fiancée who left her because she couldn’t bare any children due to her cancer Shandi shows amazing strength, courage, and positive attitude towards life and guarding her heart from any future she may face. However, meeting two firefighter hunks who... more claim to be her true mates has her head a spinning and their emotional attachments to each other make all thoughts and guarded walls clasping down to allow her to fall in love and enjoy the life the sexy Viking Wolf’s Rafe and Ryley shower her with. I loved Rafe and Ryley and their past baggage of being abandon by their parents to the Gray pack just melted my heart. They are fierce as wolf’s but gentle and tender with Shandi. I think I liked Rafe the best, he seemed to be more level headed and knew immediately what he wanted out of life. Ryley on the other hand kind of fought the shock of finding his mate but the more time he spent with Shandi the clearer it became for him how he couldn’t live without her.Warning however, their erotic ménage interludes are steaming hot – 5 Flames – get ready to cross your legs and curl your toes as your rose buds pucker up for your own climax or better yet get the cold shower ready – LOL Their endearment words will have you creaming in your pants as well – LOL Their humorous bantering between each other and with the other members in the pack will have you rolling with laughter as well. For example Shandi call’s fishing gear Doohickey’s – LMAO!This was such a wonderful story and I have to say I think the author’s writing just continues to improve with awesome creativity. I literally couldn’t put this book down and could visually see this drama unfolding in our own world. I even tear up at the end when Shandi’s mom showed up at the end for her special day.I loved the secondary characters and think it is so cool how the other characters from the previous books (Devin, Damon, Caroline, Liam & Tina, Whitney, Tawny, the Diego Pack, and Tina’s brother Thomas continue on in each book adding to the drama and happy ever after build up and a bigger climax to end the series. I think the most intriguing character is Delaky – the Gray pack’s Shaman/adviser. I’d love to know more about her beginnings and how she became the wise woman she is along with the magical foresight she yields. I loved the HEA ending along with the suspenseful ending that involves Rafe and Ryley’s sister Katie Jo. I highly recommend this Gray Pack Series to all paranormal romance lovers. I look forward to the next book in the series.Excellent Read!
review 2: So many times a book series starts off great, but as the series progresses the stories are the same or lose focus. Not the case here with Lori King's 3rd book in this series. It is a fresh and different story. Still dealing with hot werewolves, Rafe and Ryley Whetstone are brothers that work as firefighters. They get the wake up call of their lives as they go to a Kindergarten class to talk about fire safety. They meet their mate, Shandi Martin.Shandi is not looking for anything serious, after a bout with cancer that left her barren and without a boyfriend. But these hot werewolves wouldn't take no for an answer. They continue to pursue her, trying to be patient. When out of the blue she knows that she really is their mate.Love where this story takes us, the characters are not perfect. They cannot just all meet and live happily ever after. Getting everything they ever wanted handed to them. They are faced with the inability to have children, parents and a sister that reappear in their lives. Lori King is a wonderful author! She makes you see and feel through the characters. And luckily there are many more hot werewolves in the Gray Pack so we can continue reading! less
