review 1: File Lori Wilde under "good enough for an occasional hit, but I'd prefer a better writer"Generic childhood crush wish fulfillment, set in a small town in Texas. The Christmas Cookie one might've been a little better. It's a bad sign that I keep forgetting the hero's name.One nice thing about growing up in Texas is that I can somewhat relate to assorted backgrounds of the inordinate number of trashy romances that are set there. Even if, in this case, it's only "Dallas Cowboys QB is serious business" and "A&M seems like as good a place as any to have some reckless partying years."
review 2: This is an amazing story. It has it's funny moments, sad moments, moments of clarity and oh so much more. There is passion, hate, love and frustration all compacted into one... more story. I love the authors attention to detail. While this is the second book in the series and I have not read the first I didn't feel like I missed a thing.Pierce is your average jock in the beginning but you kind of grow to love him. Lace is your every day love stricken girl who is very good at hiding how she really feels about her love interest. She is what sucked me into the story as we are alike in that tendency. I have read a lot of stories that follow along these same lines but this is the only one that I have ever gotten truly sucked into. The plot was well thought out. I loved the location and characters and just how it all played out. Lori created a fantastic world that you just sink into and you don't want to leave it. less
