review 1: Caroline is struggling to keep her chain stores afloat, to keep her father's illness from the press and to keep the identity of her son's father a secret. But when Roman appears on the scene, she knows its hard to win.Five years ago, Roman and Caroline had been in love. But they hadn't parted on the best terms. Now there is too much anger, too much hurt between them. Roman is full of hatred and he seeks revenge at any cost. He wants to takeover the Sullivan's stores from under Caroline, to enjoy demolishing them and selling them piece by piece. To Caroline, Ramon is both the instrument of her destruction and the instrument of her happiness. The book has LRH's trademark of tension and passion but I couldn't warm to Roman and Caroline. It's not easy to like a hero hell ben... moret on revenge. Also the secret child is not one of my favorite tropes. Whatever the reason, I don't like to keep a child a secret from the man who fathered him.
