review 1: This is the first book that I have read by Lynne Griffin and I must say I really like the way she words stories. The way the book jump from present to past in different relationships really kept me intrigued where usually I may get lost. I was impressed with that part but I also found myself extremely disappointed after the book was over. I felt like the foundations the book was written on didnt matter in the end. With that said, I would still encourage others to read it since it may just be me that felt that way!
review 2: I was lucky to have received this book through the Goodreads First Reads program. From the moment I started reading it I knew that I was going to like it. The story has a lot of depth, a lot of twist and turns that you don't see coming. Th
... moree level of emotion that you feel as you read both the mother's and the daughter's stories are real and raw. I thoroughly enjoyed this book, to me there seemed to be a perfect balance of detail and story. Lynne gives just enough information of the environment that you feel as though you are in the story. Adding the element of the third generation (the two children) really gave the story it's depth and emotion. To see the pain and the love between their interactions was what gave this story it's life. I highly recommend this book and am looking forward to picking up another book by Lynne Griffin. less
